Another Mom helping the cause!

I keep coming across crafter's who are using their talent to generate donations to Haiti relief. Kiersten Hathcock, the creator behind Mod Mom Furniture is no exception! She makes beautiful modern storage that you would want to see in your kids room, or anywhere really. Her designs are so cool!

So Mod Mom Furniture has set up a raffle on her blog that ends today! I only stumbled upon it today, or I would have posted this earlier. Each entry is $10, and all donations will go to the American Red Cross for Haiti relief. I know i'm decreasing my chances on winning, by spreading the word, but it's so worth it! Thank you Mod Mom Furniture for working on this piece and organizing this raffle for such a worthy cause!

Now check out her site, enter the raffle, and spread the word!

Craft Hope For Haiti

Craft for Hope is a site I stumbled upon right after disaster struck in Haiti. Craft Hope is a love inspired project designed to share handmade crafts with those who need them. This is such a wonderful project, and have seen the impact is has with their Etsy site, Craft Hope For Haiti.

As of the middle of last week, they have already raised just over $20,000 for Doctors Without Borders, and sold 1,155 items. As of today, they have sold over 1,400 items! I encourage you to check out the site, and share with others this wonderful mission. Not only is 100% of your dollars going to help support Haiti, you get a handmade item that was truly made with love.

Melody's new smock shirt!

I picked up this adorable Riley Blake fabric on my way home from work on Friday. I thought it would be perfect as a smock shirt for Melody. I lined it with teal fabric (so it's actually reversable if you want it to be), and used an old button I had and coordinating yellow ribbon. She wore it all day on Saturday and looked
adorable!

We Hope You Like Your New Room

This picture was from a year ago today. We wrote on the back of one of the bead board panels as we were working on the nursery. I loved everything about getting the room ready. From picking out bedding to folding brand new tiny clothes, that had been freshly washed in Dreft.

I was at my friend's house this weekend, and she is in just about the same stage of room prep, as I was a year ago in this picture. Her face glowed as she showed us the progress, and the cute little baby clothes she has gotten so far.

We discussed how every soon-to-be mom sits their baby's nursery in wonderment, thinking of the day the baby arrives. I used to find any excuse to go into the nursery before Melody had arrived. I'll always remember that feeling, it was a special time.

Fab fabs!

Went to the fabric store yesterday and purchased some super cute Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabrics. I absolutely love browsing great fabrics and picking out color combos. There is something really calming about it. And of course the chitter chatter of all the quilting ladies in the store is just too cute. Then to the cutting counter, and I have to make a decision of how much to cut of each - not so fun. I hope someday to just have bolts of fabric in my sewing room to choose from!

Now I need to get my butt sewing!
